He writes the “Tricks of the Trade” column which appears in every issue of Salmon Trout Steelheader magazine and is also the Angling columnist and Redwood Empire editor of Western Outdoors magazine. JD is an Associate Editor of Western Outdoor News; the Outdoors columnist for the Auburn Journal and a regular contributor to Fish Alaska magazine and others.
He co-authored the book Side-Drifting for Steelhead with fellow guide and pro basser, Fred Contaoi and has several other books due out soon.
